5. Garde-Regiment zu Fuß

The 5. Garde-Regiment zu Fuß was a regiment in the Imperial German Army, it was formed in 1897. It was also situated in Spandau as a garrison prior to the war.

-In August 1914, they took part in the invasion of Belgium
-In late August they were transferred to the Eastern front.
-In May 1915, the regiment which was part of the 5th Guard Infantry Brigade was used to form the 4th Guard Infantry Division which was one of the Army's best divisions and it took part in some of the most significant battles.
-From November 1915 until the end of the war the regiment fought on the Western front
