The 4th Royal Welch Fusiliers is a Mount and Blade regiment that was founded on the 3rd of July, 2014 by former members of the 88th York. Our founding leaders had the vision of creating a regiment which achieved four key purposes; tactical gameplay, cooperation, equal representation through the ranks, and a regiment with no serious commitments necessary. Over the years our regiment has evolved and its members have changed countless times, leadership being passed on. But its goal and its intent staying the same. Tactical and cooperative gameplay in a civil and laid back environment.



The 4th Royal Welch Fusiliers is based of the Royal Welch Fusiliers which was a line infantry regiment and one of the oldest infantry regiments in the British army, which is why the regiment uses the older spelling of Welch instead of Welsh. The regiment was created in 1689 by Lord Henry Herbert to fight in the Williamite War in Ireland and also against France.

During the French revolutionary wars the regiment took part in the Egyptian campaign where they earned another battle honour and the right to put the sphinx on their regimental colours. Later during the Napoleonic wars the regiment served from 1810 to 1814 in the Peninsular War. They would eventually go under the 4th Brigade in the Battle of Waterloo.
