I have no idea why Mac gamers have this fetish of trying to put Apple's burdens on Valve but no Valve isn't going to bundle 3rd party software with Steam and potentially violate licenses.
Also no, Apple has "done all the work". They are claiming there newest versions of middle ware can see "up to" 80% performance of what Windows gamers see and again for a limited set of titles.
In contrast proton plays literally everything only being stopped by some 3rd party anticheats and with native performance or better compared to windows.
If you want better compatibility take it up with Apple and stop with this insane idea that its somehow Valve's responsibility.
Sorry, you think its Valves job to clean up Apples mistakes?
