To these Officers, Police Chief's, and Precincts/Districts, I tip my hat.
And how are you doing with your support of the less fortunate people in your community?
i notice the training of enforcement staff has fallen. reviewing a lot of 'scuffle' bodycam footage, i see officers open. tons of openings. places where their liver would have been kicked (still hurts through the armor) and their equipment used against them.
struggling to take down a perp for minutes when a simple lock or hold would have ended it in seconds. we're talking very bare bones basic joint locks and holds that are universal to like 6 different combat systems , lol. stuff you can learn in 6 hours and it follows you through life.
places where the officer didn't have to go to the ground. (got taken down by the perp, too! embarrassement!!!!!!)
places where compliance could have been gained with a finger lock.
places where compliance could have been gained by being stealthy.
and the lack of charm! its so easy to talk to people and ascertain their intent. showing a little charm and class goes a long way.
idk, its just crazy to me to be out there in armor and a service weapon and a badge and be so unprepared.
may fortune favor the foolish. (no shade at anyone who is commissioned by their city. but i sure hope you train!)
Another issue is that some Districts will employ military people whom never reach a higher rank, higher ranks show much more remorse for humanity, in most cases.
There is a reason that Detectives and Investigators hold 4-year college degrees and not just for forensic sciences, but also in Social Sciences as well.
Not many on-duty Officers (foot soldiers) even know why college creates solutions and high school is only fact-based which creates hostility without a social aspect.
Some people can be talked down, some people are too hocked up on whatever to even care, to differentiate takes both knowledge/experience and common sense, yet also a taste of empathy but always being 'on-guard' causes anxiety for said Officers.
I do not like cops but I really respect good Officers of the Law unless that law is biased ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, like in the current UK, for example.
Some Officers are gamers and use Steam, but this is no source of respect from me.
The trick that has been handed out through the ages was to look at a person's eyes, if the pupil is big, they are cool, they are based, they are fair, if the pupil is small, they are biased, they are hating, they are judgmental.
i can't argue with validity presented in an articulate manner 😎👍
Someone mentioned this though about another, possible, housing market collapse, which would build even greater capital, so I await the future housing market crash.
I have a lot of respect for the police, it's probably part of my upbringing, I was always told that if I ever need help, speak to a police officer. At one time, we used to see a bobby on the beat most days here in the UK, I'm presuming because of the budget cuts, it's now very rare to see one.
I watch a lot of programmes that involve the police catching criminals, one such programme is called The Real Manhunter, it stars former Met. Police Detective Colin Sutton, he explains how he has caught some of the worst with the help from his team. Interesting to watch.
I'm thankful that we do have people like that in society, sometimes willing to risk it all to protect a member of the public.
