Motion blur is pretty stupid at high framerates, back when I had a terrible PC and was trying to play HL2 at 20-50FPS it looked quite nice actually
I like GTA5's DoF.
Honestly idk either, though. Gotta drop $1000 on a gpu to even play the newest releases. And then im expected to lose 10% performance by enabling garbage that blurs the graphics. Its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid.
The settings being turned on by default is even stupider.
You know for immersion purposes, of course.
It's one of the things I immediately turn off. Film Grain is another. Usually bloom as well because it's rarely well done.
motion blur, depth of field, I dont really need any of that,
the concept of motion blur is over the top dumb,I mean if player can run their games at above 500fps on a 600Hz monitor, they will see blur when moving fast,
That reminds me of when I played some of the recent Turok remasters. Head bob, weapon bob, jump bobbing. No, just no. I turned all that crap off.
Same reason why some horror games, piss me off, they force you to duck, panic, tumble or even over-react to details you don't need to pay attention to, with no way to skip animations unless you know how to dodge triggers, go out of bounds, etc...
It makes a 10 second hall become a pilgrimage of 10 minutes.
Yeah "head bob" wtf is that self induced motion sickness feature?
Followed by "screen shake", sometimes you think they actually want people who are sensitive to that puke allover.
