we must stop AI before it takes away all our jobs and forces us to stay home playing video games all day while it produces all our necessities for us

Let it take jobs. The companies will bankrupt themselves in time.

The real threat is manipulated information.

"AI is taking away all our jobs!" is the lump of labor fallacy[en.wikipedia.org].
There is no fixed amount of "work" to be done in an economy.

"The term is also commonly used to describe the false belief that increasing labour productivity, automation, immigration, or women's participation in the workforce causes an increase in unemployment. The facts show that just like the amount of labor is not fixed, neither is the size of the economy (fixed pie fallacy) and as more work is done, the economy grows."

Just like with automated teller machines, people thought that it would take away jobs from human bank tellers. It didn't. It actually caused more human bank tellers to be hired due to banks being able to expand, since they were now able to do more business.
An AI entity cannot have legal rights like human beings. They cannot own property or replace physical jobs.

I don't mind this stuff and some of those Sora cat videos, but the rest, I'm kinda over it eh.. Great search results though.

Bernie's pretty blunt in saying that we need to ask the tech CE-brOs some serious questions. It's half fear-mongering with tech bro feudalism talking points and half good points.
Right now there's a RAM shortage due to AI buying up RAM and driving up the prices. They are also costly in water cooling too.

Is AI even worth it?
They tuk ewr jawbs
They tuk ewr jawbs
And after injecting Improvac by pfizer (tm)
"Dey tuk err ballz!!"
Another dusty old fossil with their primitive archaic take on the modern world. I almost feel bad for these primates who lack critical forward thinking. They're missing out on one of the biggest technological revolutions since the computer was invented. They're probably still waiting for the computer bubble to burst lmao 😂😂🤣🤣
Every LLM brazenly violates Asimov's law of robotics. That should be everyone's biggest concern.
Is AI even worth it?

no, its a mostly dumb fad and it needs to burst.

Is the Democrat Socialist being contradictory again?

I thought staying home playing video games was the entire selling point of socialism.
Bernie is such a hear me out
Well, the Government is going to have to figure out what they're going to do with the mass job losses.

I did not watch the video, but if Mr Sanders is under the impression this can be stopped, i'm afraid that is not going to happen.

Right now, we just got an awful jobs report for November. We were supposed to get great numbers due to holiday hiring. Yet they are terrible, but Wall St dismissing it and booming.

Well that's because the way Wall St sees it, job loss is a GOOD thing, and what companies should be doing in lieu of AI.

And we are going to continue to see mass job loss amidst record profit margins.

Therefore what Mr Sanders should be talking about (and maybe he is, again i didn't see the video) is raising Corporate Tax Rates to Pre Reagan levels, to help pay for the programs Mr Trump is now cutting, creating others like Universal Income going into the 2026 ad 2028 elections.

Companies to their credit have been warning, even screaming for the Government to do something before they have too.

Lump of labor fallacy, see post #3.
They said the same when we started to see computers in workplace and before that when we started to see mechanical processes.
