Most estimates put the US at between 80M and 120M firearm owners so this is actually pretty accurate.

...and then you need to consider that many "rural" communities have a much higher ownership percentage. I mean, if you're a hunter... likely you'll use a gun to do it. And once you've got one... why not two or three?

And then gun owners are also gonna be in the more "red" states.
