The US will be diminished in its importance for the next couple of decades until it plays second fiddle to China.
America will be transformed in the coming decades, for better (an egalitarian liberal democracy now true to its humanist, Enlightenment principles) or worse (an AI-assisted, quasi-fascist police state).
As for China, I'm not betting on it to supersede the US. It's certainly possible, but people are often unaware of China's own enormous challenges, since those of America dominate Western headlines.
