No, the food coloring Red 40 (Allura Red AC) is not added to gasoline. While both Red 40 and the dyes used in gasoline are petroleum derivatives, they are different chemical compounds designed for different applications. Red dye is added to dyed diesel for tax purposes, indicating it's for off-road use and exempt from certain road taxes.
