a few years ago it was below 1%, something changed couple of years ago and now the trend is very clear.
window$ fans used to say no one plays on linux, now they will say 3% is is only a few people.

by 2030 it will be about 10%. Anticheat systems that still don't allow linux will be forced to support linux because it's just too many people. It's over windowzers.

We should probably focus on Linux actually becoming markedly better rather than staring at the % of the market share go up, because most people are begrudgingly switching to it because Windows is sucking harder than usual lately.

I don't see "people switching to Linux because Windows 11 blows" as something to celebrate. I'd much rather see Linux improve

It's still insufficient for my needs and falls short of Windows.

2025, Linux still full of issues, unable to properly game.

Many of the things people criticize Windows for will slowly arrive to Linux as well.

Fedora announced that they'll allow AI vibe coding in their development. So will most other dominant Linux distributions.

And another thing is that you can't expect Linux to become mainstream without corporate influence. What Linux is at 3% does not reflect to what it'll be like when it's, say, 30%.

People should look into LINUX MINT - for a windows-like experience based on the whole Linux thing. It's free too.

Not the best advice. Mint is fine for basic use, but for gaming or general plug-and-play, it’s still a headache compared to Windows...
