In Arizona, observers can't oversee the signature verification process
Here are the laws that govern Arizona's election processes:
https://www.azleg.gov/arsDetail/?title=16

Among them you will not find any requirement or provision to allow for observers to challenge ballots on the basis of a mismatching signature.

In 2023, Governor Katie Hobbs vetoed a bill, HB2305[legiscan.com] that would explicitly require that observers be present for the signature verification process.

How would you feel if your votes were counted in secret, without observers present?

They have signature verification.

They have signature verification.

I never said they didn't. Please read more carefully.

You never said they did.

The people who verify the signature do what an observer would do.
Would feel like a violation of our civil rights, sir!

Which one?

That is what they are supposed to be doing, yes. But how can you tell they are doing their jobs correctly? How do you know they aren't just raising a flag on every Republican vote and letting all the Democrat votes go through, or some other naughty thing like that?

That's why observers exist.

Bi-partisan observers (challengers) are there to ensure that they do the jobs they are supposed to be doing. If they are not there, it is as if your vote is being counted in secret.

Pity, it seems people aren't so interested in election integrity
Some laws are corrupt af.
They need to be strictly challenged and overruled.

How do you know the observers wouldn't do the same thing?

Pity, it seems this topic is just to spread fear.

Because there would be equal numbers of Republican and Democrat observers. That's what is meant by "bi-partisan observers".

Pity, it seems this topic is just to spread fear.

What's there to be fearful about? That there's a risk of being disenfranchised through fraud thanks to people counting ballots in secret? Maybe people should be scared of that. Maybe they should take steps to correct that issue.

I did!

"That there's a risk of being disenfranchised through fraud thanks to people counting ballots in secret? Maybe people should be scared of that. Maybe they should take steps to correct that issue."

But other than fear, I think a sense of justified, righteous anger might be a better reaction. Assuming one cares about election integrity, transparency, and the voting process, of course.

That assumes this topic was made in good faith.

What ulterior motive do you think I have, and for what reason?

I made this topic because our conversation in the other one was cut short, due to the mod locking the topic. A user was misleadingly claiming that elections were run under supervision by both parties, and that no fraud could get through for those reason. I researched and found that this is not entirely true. I also wanted to share my findings with a larger audience
