Steam services and repair partners
Hi to all in steam community, i wanted to share my experience with steam. My kid bought a steamdeck 2 and a half year ago and here are the issues. 3 buttons one of them the on/off button dont work anymore. My kid used it in a responsible way. He has limited use of it weekly and he paid it with the money he put aside. Unfortunatly for him after the 2 years of "no question" warranty, well the steamdeck had issues. So he contacted steam services who told him its still under warranty and to send it to the "partner" repairservice. After checkup, they decided that the warranty couldnt apply for theses "issues" so they sended a bill of 150 euros for a 600 euros bought steamdeck.
I am a a very early customer of steam and also valve, played almost all games they contributed to at their early beginning with half life, portal anso. I'm a dedicated gamer and now in my 50's i'm still gaming around even if little less. I stil buy games for my kid because i know the feeling of comfort gaming gives you and all of you guys in the community know what i'm speaking off. So i'm deeply disappointed when Steam, valve and repair services "teach my kid a hard lesson" that invested money in products can be really a hazard, specially if firms refuse accountability of their product and i repeat in "normal use". So i just wanted to share this to everyone before, you buy products of steam think about it that after two years the will turn their back from you.
Wish the gaming community lots of fun.
