7900XTX to 5080?

Is this worth it?

My current specs:
CPU: 9950x 16cores
GPU: 7900XTX 24GB
Ram: DDR5 32GB 4800(6000)

I would say no personally. The 7900xtx actually trades blow with the 5080 until RT is involved. When I was deciding between the 7900xtx and the 9070xt the benchamarks on release made it clear that for none RT the 7900xtx is still a killer card and since you already have it swapping is a hard sell in my book.

Plus if you ever consider Linux in the future you'll most definitely want an AMD card for an Nvidia one to avoid problems.

This is a question you have to ask yourself.
You can sell that power guzzler for around $600–700, add another $300–400, and get an RTX 5080 for roughly 10–20% more performance, better upscaling, less heat output and lower power draw.

You’ll also benefit from stronger ray tracing performance but if you mostly play rasterized titles or already get the FPS you want, the upgrade wouldn't make much sense.

So, what do you think, is it worth it in your eyes? I’m genuinely asking.

only 13% faster , less VRAM .35W less power only . RTX 5080 supports MFG but the current only 2x FG .

edit if you can sell it for $700 and add only $300 , yes it s worth it. at ebay it s around 700

Thanks guys, Ill hold off for now, Just wanted a more stable skyrim(over 4000 mods) framerate, but it seems It might perform the same for the most part, I thought there was a larger dif and wanted to see what other thought.
