5070 should come with an adaptor in the box. Use two separate power supply cables to plug into the adaptor vs one + daisy chain off the same cable.
i really just need help with knowing how to plug in the actual 12vhpwr connector as it might melt itself with my luck
yeah i guess you have not seen the rare 5070 that have melted the plug.....
https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/graphics-cards/user-reports-melted-power-cable-on-an-rtx-5070-and-now-were-wondering-if-any-rtx-50-series-gpu-is-safe/
As of now, I've jot seen any failures that are not due to the above or recreating a situation in testing that, essentially boils down to the same as it not being fully inserted.
and due to it being smaller its so strange and weird to plug in compared to the other GPU power cables like the one in my 3060 that just plugs straight in with no issuess
There are millions of these cards out there and a handful of instances of it going wrong, which then get shouted about to get views or sell new products nobody needs (de8auer).
also since its a zotac card its got an LED that tells you if its plugged in fully or not so that makes it better i guess
It's not THAT much force, no more than a normal pcie cable, just do a quick check that it is clipped in and that the 2 halves meet evenly.
If you have to treat a cable like a baby its not overstated.
Its not unreasonable to treat a cable the way cables have been treated for decades which means new design is a poor one.
You are clueless aren't you.
The cables are smaller than before, with more of them, placed tighter, they have less tolerance for bending.
You should also NEVER bend any cables tightly as it is bad for the.
I am the first to say it is a bad design, you'll get no argument from me, but still if you don't miss treat the cable and properly ensure it is plugged in, you will have no issues, there are tens to maybe hundreds of ones that have gone bad, out of MILLIONS SOLD, the issues are all users screwing up, that the connection is not as robust as before doesn't change the fact it is 100% user error.
