Random Game Picker
What if you don't know what to play? What if Steam added a wheel that contains all of you games, and you could spin it to choose what you're going to play! Maybe you could also add/remove different games, and save different wheels (sets of games)! Also, you could choose a game group to spin from.

There used to be a decky tool that would do this, but I guess it never got updated or something.

While I think this would be good for tackling the backlog, I doubt it will be a valve tool.

My suggestion is to get a die, add games to a collection equal to sides of the die, and pick a sorting algorithm that will have games moving as you play them more. This combo will mean that you don't know what a particular roll means until you're basically hovering over the title.

At one point, I had a powershell script that would just simulste an arbitrary die... chatgpt could probably do that for you these days if you'd rather go that route.

This suggestion comes up fairly often, but alas, we have seen nothing from Valve.

I find that the easiest way to conquer my backlog is the steam deck. I install verified games i wouldn't normally play on my pc (controller primary games, mostly) and just play them in bed before i go to sleep.

It's possible there is a 3rd party tool that could achieve this, but yknow, use at your own risk.

Consider adding a Play Next shelf to your Library. It will suggest games based on ones you've played.
