To me it's all Point & Click what you mention. That said, Adventure games encompass more than just P&C.
You don't point and click on a gamepad. So why even call games build for gamepads point and click?
Because you are still aim and select, which is the exact same thing as point and click.
They're synonyms.
With that logic every game with aiming and click is a point & click game. It doesn't make sense. Let's call Counter-Strike 2 a point and click game. Sounds about right with your logic.
There are also people, who can't use the keyboard and look specifically for games, that are only playable with mouse. For Steam it is just necessary to add a field, that contains "playable with mouse only". A think of coding what...3 bars of code?
Why are you trying to degrade this feature for disabled and/or interested gamers?
Technically, CS2 is a point and click game, yeah.
Point at. Aim at.
Click. Select.
Originally Point & Click Adventures were games, where you pointed at something or somewhere on the screen and clicked to start an action. For that you used the mouse. Nowadays you don't even have that feature in most games, which call themselve Point & Click. Sadly there is no information about this games, that warns the buyer beforehand if the game even supports mouse only playing.
And this is why I started this suggestion & ideas thread.
I don't get why some people find it necessary to degrade this idea, that makes it for gamers and the steam support easier, with their opinion and interpretations.
Pros:
Less refunds
People with disabilities have it easier to find games they can play
People, who like mouse only games have it easier
Better organisation of games
Cons:
None
Edit:
Gamepad Games can't be Point and Click without a Pointer in the first place.
Essentially, what Curators can help you with?

Edit: You would be wrong about that as well.
Whether I use a steering wheel, keyboard or gamepad for the racing game, it remains a racing game. Same with P&C games, doesn't matter if I use a mouse or gamepad, it's still P&C.
I get the disability angle and some addition on the store page would be useful for that. But I don't agree that the games should be separated.
Perfect example, why it would make it easier for people to separate or at least add an information on the steam pages. Curators don't test all games, since they most likely don't buy every game, that gets released.
Who said they need to buy the games?
Don't go offtopic. I made this thread, so this gets a chance to happen.
Yes, but sadly if you don't know the games, you get no information on the steam page with what you can control them. The only information is: Gamepad supported.
I request, that at least a Mouse Only supported field gets added.
Valve offers literal curator groups that can serve this purpose somewhat obliquely.
