Console Bind Glitch in CS2

my bind for the console in CS2 is F8 but after the last update when i open the console, i can't close it anymore, only by typing the command "hideconsole". Some time ago it was the same but the button ESC would close the console, but now the only thing that works is the command, what can i do to fix that and return to pressing the same button to open and close the console?

Are you pressing on the X on the top right corner of the console?

no, just using esc or the x button no more closing the console on F8 :(

You're not alone, I'm having the same issue. For me, it is on tilde (~) and it will open the console, and closes it as well, but then randomly while the game is running the tilde key suddenly stops closing the console. it will still open it, but i have to type toggleconsole or click the x to close it. Even worse, on a rarer occasion, it will stop opening the console too until i quit out of CS2 and re-open it. Closing and re-opening CS2 also fixes everything back to normal, until it happens again and I have to restart again to get the console key back to working normally.

It's super annoying, and I have yet to see anyone offer a solution, nor have I found anyone discussing having the same glitch until I saw your post. I was beginning to think it was something I had screwed up since I hadn't seen anyone else describing a similar issue.
