You're not alone, I'm having the same issue. For me, it is on tilde (~) and it will open the console, and closes it as well, but then randomly while the game is running the tilde key suddenly stops closing the console. it will still open it, but i have to type toggleconsole or click the x to close it. Even worse, on a rarer occasion, it will stop opening the console too until i quit out of CS2 and re-open it. Closing and re-opening CS2 also fixes everything back to normal, until it happens again and I have to restart again to get the console key back to working normally.

It's super annoying, and I have yet to see anyone offer a solution, nor have I found anyone discussing having the same glitch until I saw your post. I was beginning to think it was something I had screwed up since I hadn't seen anyone else describing a similar issue.

It is still a problem in 2025, nearly 2026. Valve devs incompetent.
