Since The Player travels back to Stinky's Diner, July 10, 1980 In-Game, I was wondering... has anyone grew up in the 1980s?

When I launch the game, my screen just flashes. I have to hit alt,ctrl,del and go into task manager to get it to stop. All my non Sam and Max games work fine and all of the Sam and Max episodes up to this one have played without problems. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the episode and checked the integrity of the files and nothing helps. Any ideas?...
