I'm playing using OpenXcom mostly for the QOL changes and some extra difficulty. Back in the days when you got the Avenger you could drop a soldier diagonally to the NorthWest end of the dropship which accelerated the boring process of deploying your troops. This was a glitch pathway that allowed your soldiers to drop through the wall of the Avenger, but at least it made the first turns to move faster. Now using OpenXcom this seems to be fixed. Anyone knows how to turn this behavior back to vanilla so ...

Cmon, we all know that the only reason we play this is nostalgia as it is quite sub par by nowadays standards, so my question is how old are you guys ?

I'm a grizzled vet of the 90s DOS version now playing the OpenXCom (updated & upgraded) basic system. I got lucky and captured a Sectoid leader early, and I researched Psi stuff by June. It's early July now, Ethereals have arrived, and I've encountered my first Sectopods when I shot down a terror ship. I'm having a LOT more problem with Sectopods than Ethereals: I'm just wondering if there are timers or AI-response mechanisms from having researched PSI stuff before I have Heavy Plasma. I've also failed...

I sent 2 skyrangers to track a ufo...now when they both land it asks if I want to go to the ufo and as soon as i say yes, the game keeps reloading another game. I tried sending the skyranger home and it does the same thing. My game is stuck in this loop

Thank you very much, this game is a classic for me and I'm playing it non-stop and I can't get bored, it captivates me a lot and it's a game that's almost 40 years old, whoever made this game deserves to be in the gaming hall of fame
