so im looking for a good and deep pirate sim, and it looks like this series got a lot pof praise by several different google findings and posts. BUT, there is a huge problem i have. this game series seems to have ATLEAST 3 different titles (pirates of the carribian, age of pirates and sea dogs) and also it has like several sequels, dlc's and mods.................... so my question is, what is considered the best and deepest "version" of this game series? again, its so damn confusing, i wasnt able to figur...

I am really struggling to play the Sea Dogs games in 4K. It says i have to change the resolution in the engine.ini. So far so good, but if i set something above 1080p, i just get an unknown error crash.

Does anyone know anything about this? I'm not getting skill points awarded when I level up, so can't really progress the game. Haven't played in years and was looking forward to a quick nostalgia run so it's pretty sad. The only changes I've made are editing the .ini for widescreen and changing come of the controls. Maybe just got unlucky and my first save is broke for no known reason, can't find any mention of this bug anywhere else :(...
