Character System

We are introducing a new character system, after logging in you will be presented with a character selection screen. You can have up to 3 characters per account. You will be able to see a preview of your accounts as seen below before logging in.

You will now have a player name and a character name, this will look like "CharacterName(PlayerName)", unless they are both the same and it will be just "PlayerName". Character Names are not unique. If you need to block a player you can use "/Block "Player Name"" the character name is not required.

Some important related things to characters are also planned and coming soon.

• Migrating characters from email accounts to your steam account.

• The ability to change Player and Character name.

• Unlocking more character slots.

Other Features

• Player Model improvements, I was able to get a 30 fps increase with 25 player models around on fancy settings.

• Smart CharacterHUD visibility. The HUD above players and enemies are only visible when hovered or after taking damage.

• Boss Scaling improvements, Elf Warden can now scale up to 30 players compared to previous 12.

• Personal hit splats are more visible compared to other players.

Bug fixes

• Login flow has been reworked, you should expect less issues of getting locked out of joining a world.

• Server crash issues.

• Fixed some miss-configured materials.

• Fixed getting kicked for inactivity while in character customization.

Misc

• Registering with email is discontinued, existing email accounts can play as normal. There is a good reason for this that we would like to go into more detail in the future.

• Improved networking performance when first joining world.

• Boss minions now disappear after 2-5 seconds when the boss dies, instead of instantly.

In other news, we secretly added Bunny Ears to the global drop table in the last update! They can be dropped by any monster, with the drop rate scaling based on combat level and max health. These will only be available until next week’s patch (Most likely 17/04/26), so good luck on the hunt!

Smaller update while we work towards magic and characters, we have made some improvements to server performance to address concerns and some fixes.

Bug fixes

• Doors having collision when open causing players to get stuck, gates still have collision when open.

• Arrows sometimes never landing when target is running away.

• Archers sometimes standing still and not shooting.

• Float fern in map.

• Carts not having collision in valenport.

• Various client crashes.

Improvements

• Pirate variations now have unique names

• Ping is now displayed server selection menu.

• Various improvements to server performance and network bandwidth.

• Ping is now calculated more accurately.
