Major Update – Melted Valor

This update focuses on improving core gameplay, player experience, and overall immersion.

Gameplay & Systems

• Reworked save system

  • Progress now saves within most main campaign levels

  • Main enemy forces persist after loading

  • Select enemy types are designed to respawn upon reload for gameplay balance

• Improved overall game stability and flow

Notes

• Collectible-style levels are designed to restart from the beginning upon reload

• These levels focus on replayable objectives and exploration

Controls

• Added partial controller support

Enemy Improvements

• Reworked flamethrower enemy behavior

  • Now mobile and significantly more threatening

Weapons & Combat Feel

• Increased M16 damage output

• Improved weapon accuracy across the board

• Adjusted all weapon sound effects to deliver a stronger, more impactful feel:

  • M16

  • SAW

  • Shotgun

  • Sniper rifle

• Added additional weapons and ammunition into the majority of the levels.

Visual & Level Improvements

• Adjusted exposure settings across levels for more consistent visuals

• Optimized opening cutscene

  • Removed unnecessary explosion emitters (potential crash source)

• Updated Toy Shop level background assets

  • Replaced background toys with tank toy boxes for improved cohesion

• Adjusted most levels for general optimization

World & Immersion

• Added more life and environmental detail to levels

  • Background ecosystems now include:

    • Dragonflies

    • Bees

    • Butterflies

One of my favorite additions - adding small environmental life like bees and insects to bring the world to life from a toy's perspective.
