Patch 0.5.2 Notes (and Steam Deck Verification!)

Heyyy FixForce crew,

We've got a few more improvements and fixes out for you today!

Not only that, but we’re also Steam Deck Verified!

We’ve been working hard to make sure FixForce plays great on Deck, and we’ll keep fine-tuning it throughout Early Access as well.

When playing in a mixed group of Steam Deck and PC users, we recommend that the host plays on PC to ensure the best possible performance.

GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS

Towers Map: more art, level design improvements
Shop Price Balancing: reducing some shop prices
Heart emote: now with improved VFX
Oil Can: now restores you to full health
Emote Wheel: improvements to make it easier to use with gamepad
General performance optimization

BUG FIXES

Fixed the pulsing of the Drill-Wrench to have nice flashy VFX again
Fixed a tree. A lonely little tree.
Improved building stability and predictability so that removing a non-essential piece won’t bring the whole structure down
Adjusted all maps to address invisible blockout, preventing players from getting stuck or out of bounds
Fixed issues in which players in the same group were seeing different amounts of remaining lives
Fixed issues with Challenges in which they sometimes didn’t trigger for players when they should
Multiple audio fixes in which SFX weren’t playing
Fixed issue in which wrench VFX sometimes got stuck on-screen on low latency
Fixed issue in which ‘Days Since Last Incident’ sign didn’t show the correct number of days.
Fixed an issue in which the very big sign sparkles extravagantly when inserted into a beacon
Adjusted the Dance emoji so that 1st and 3rd person match a little better
Slight tweaks to player materials
Small fixes across Proximity Chat to make everyone sound even nicer
Various map adjustments

Did the game die?

I was looking forward to it but it realesed but can't be purchased yet. I don't think I have ever seen this occur before been on steam for over a decade.

Patch 0.5.1 Notes

We've just set our first patch for FixForce live!

Here's what we did:

Fixed an issue where players sometimes couldn't launch friends' heads
Fixed a rare bug where Loading Screen would hang indefinitely
Adjusted map rotation randomization to reduce repetition
Fixed occasional issue where players weren't being healed by the battery
Made some corrections to the “Days without Incident” screen
Made some alterations to the water in Towers
Fixed the Portable Teleporters so they work nicely in all angles
Fixed players not hearing each other at the end of a round
Fixed push to talk to work consistently in Shifts
Cleaned up VFX here and there

Let us know here or in the Surgent Discord if you come across any bugs, and we'll take a peek under the hood!

More fun stuff on the way :)

Man this is going to sound real sad. Hi I'm an Australian Linux User, so is my buddy; We both use Linux Mint.

This game looks super fun, but instead we got around 13 minutes of Multiplayer issues...

Let me explain.

I saw this game, shared this to my buddy and he said Wow! Garry's Mod Physics! Awesome! And the Price was just right... So we both bought the game, installed it; First time joining him the game worked as intended... For Two minutes...

I suddenly DC'd he was still in-game, even though his and my connection was stable... There was only one reason for this. EOS.

Epic Online Servers... I cannot believe this game was using them. Every time I used this set of Servers there was always a problem with them! Now I will explain what happened next.

I kept trying to join him, I told him to create a new lobby with a new code; Restart our games etc, NOTHING changed.

What I did keep seeing whenever I tried to join him was an error that kept stating; THIS PLAYER IS ALREADY IN THE GAME. Even though I am clearly STILL on the Join Game Screen.

I'm so sad man... As a man who tries to give the best Criticism without pissing people off, I beg you; Make this game better. I want this to succeed, this game looks awesome.

But for now... I am refunding this.

Surprisingly difficult ?

Hey, out of curiosity does anyone else feel like this game is much harder than other online coop games like repo or peak ? I played for an hour with some friends yesterday and another hour by myself today and unlike those games that start out very easy and get harder as a run goes on, here i've never managed to complete all the fixes in any given stage... The levels feel huge in a bad way, you're never sure if the place you're spending time exploring will contain essential loot or nothing of real value. ...

Notes on playing the game in Linux
