As part of the preparations for an upcoming major update,

the store page display has been updated ahead of time in some languages.

Specifically:

In Japanese and Russian, the new title and new artwork are already reflected

The English display is currently in the process of being updated

This is a phased update in preparation for the major update planned for March 2026.

There are no changes to the game content or to existing purchases.

Changes to the in-game display are planned to be applied at the time of the major update.

Once the official update date has been finalized,

further details will be announced here in the community.

Regarding the previous announcement about the end of sales and the release of a new title,
the future release plan has been revised.

A major update for this game is now planned, which includes a change to the game’s title.
Players who have already purchased the game will be able to enjoy the new version without downloading a separate product after the update.

■ Reason for the Change in Plan

Regarding the update plan that was previously announced as a release under a separate product,
further discussions were held with Valve (Steam).

As a result, the following points were confirmed:

Releasing a major game update as a separate product is not recommended on Steam
Providing the update as an update to the existing "88 at an Exhibition" is acceptable

Based on these considerations, the game will not be discontinued, and no new product will be released.
Instead, the update—including the title change—will be delivered as a free update to
"88 at an Exhibition".

■ Main Features Planned for the Major Update

Change of the game’s title
Refresh of the store page and artwork
Game content updates and improvements

All of the above will be delivered as a free update.
The update is planned for March 2026.
Further details will be announced once the update date has been finalized.

wonderfully odd little game. what you see in the trailer is what you get, you collect colored obstacles while dodging all else for the duration of the entire piano suite Pictures at an Exhibition (just over 30 minutes.) there is no way to die, getting hit just resets your progress towards the next bullet pattern, of which there are 88 in total, hence the otherwise-strange name of the game.

it's got its quirks. the portrait screen resolution makes the game much harder, and getting a good full-game playthrough is decently difficult to begin with. the difficulty's also completely all over the place, there are some bizarrely hard patterns early on that thwart just about everything that gets thrown at you later on. there's also absolutely no text beyond the title screen, credits, and song transitions, which is a choice i don't personally dislike but you aren't ever told how to play the game (ignoring the trailer) or how to pause (enter key.) there is a readme file included in the game files, which helps, but i couldn't honestly tell you when the last time i had a readme file for a game was. do people read game manuals these days? the game is good at teaching you its later mechanics without words but i do think it would benefit from an initial, quick, verbal tutorial.

i'd say that's about all the issues i have with it though, besides the fact that it won't be available to be purchased anymore starting tomorrow. (eagerly looking forward to the remake!) even in midi form it does take you on a surprisingly expressive journey through the suite, with the varying gimmicks playing quite well into the music. i hadn't actually heard the suite in full prior to this, only being familiar with the opening and closing movement (both of which i adored,) and i'm pretty happy with this being my first exposure despite the lower music quality. it's very charming! if the latter half of the trailer looks like it'd be fun to play, then by all means buy the game before it's gone! the bullet patterns are creative and often fun to figure out and i'm sure you'd enjoy at least one playthrough.

The button that erases your data should tell you that it erases your data

So I respect the lack of any words used throughout the menu and I clicked/held the respective button knowing full well that it would probably delete my data. I didn't walk into it not knowing what i was doing. Even still, if you want to give this game one last update before delisting, I really do think there should be some text making it very clear what the function of it is due to the very nature of data erasure. There are a lot of other visuals on that menu and it seems all too possible to stumble into i...

Put the title up for $0.99 before you delist it.

Some people will buy it just to have it in their libraries (hi I'm Some people)
