I remember watching a friend play it when I was a kid and I remember it being pretty sad, but I missed massive portions of the game when I wasn't at his place, and so the story is mostly unknown to me. Thinking of picking it up... And the NieR games are my standard for a heartbreaking storyline....

It would be cool if Bandai remastered the sequel to this game. I had found it more fun to play than the first, but both were still great when they came out.
