Game

• Fixed a crash that occurred during trading

• Fixed an issue where sound effects in MP3 stereo were not loading properly—the game generally cannot play stereo MP3 sound effects; the error occurred when downmixing to mono

• Added the ability to position monster sprites vertically

Editor:

• UI redesign for wall and floor palettes in the map editor

• "Import Adventure" feature – the ability to load adventures from the Workshop into the editor

• UI redesign for importing monster sprites into the editor. Sprites must be imported all at once because the editor needs to generate a shared color palette. Just a reminder that the entire animation can use 127 colors for solid pixels and 128 colors for semi-transparent pixels (50% alpha), and 1 index is reserved for full transparency

• Colors in generated color palettes are now sorted by hue

• The COL editor shows which colors have 50% opacity

• Option to adjust the position of each frame in the animation both horizontally and vertically

• The requirement for frame filenames has been relaxed. It is no longer mandatory to use the letters F, B, L, R, C, or H to indicate the phase; you only need to use a 6-character base name followed by any two characters identifying the specific frame

• The "Transparent" flag has been removed from the wall definition. The editor manages this flag on its own, and it doesn't really make much sense these days. It used to allow the game to decide whether to render hidden parts of the maze, but today's computers are so fast that such optimization is no longer necessary. Additionally, this flag caused issues with asset organization.

Known Issues:

• Loss of item names in palettes - This issue may persist, especially across versions. It is a result of how names are stored—a hash of the content is used, but if the format of a palette item’s content changes, the hashes no longer match, and the name and definition fail to pair.

• Hot reload can sometimes cause the game to crash

• A saved position may be marked as corrupted if certain changes are made to the campaign after the position was created

Editor Open Beta is now available for public testing. To join, switch to the "public_beta" branch in the game's Properties window. Please note: During this phase, the Steam Workshop is visible only to existing owners of the game.

WARNING: Newly saved positions in the beta version are not compatible with the original version. To be safe, back up your old positions if you want to keep them. Otherwise, unless you overwrite the position, it will remain in its original state

What's new?

• A launcher has been added, where you can select the language of the game. In the launcher, you can also select a campaign downloaded from the workshop, which can then be played.

• A beta editor has been added. Remember that this is still a work in progress, and may contain errors and imperfections. However, you can already create new campaigns with the editor and publish them to the Steam workshop. The editor can be launched directly from the game, if the Steam Overlay is enabled, or from the file explorer as a separate program

• A link to the Steam workshop has been added, you can publish your campaigns and then share them with people. The workshop is currently hidden, but should be accessible via the link.

• The game itself was further tested and some bugs appearing in edge situations were fixed. In some places the maximum FPS was reduced. The mouse and controller should have better response even on a slow PC with software rendering

• A function was added where the game can communicate with the editor and can be used as a preview

• New functions were added to the editor scripting language and to the action script in the map that could be useful for creators of new campaigns

• Improved the shading of floors and ceilings in older campaigns if they used custom fog color settings and original assets that are already pre-generated in a different color - it will improve the experience even in older campaigns

Join the testing. If you find any bugs, don't hesitate to tell us about it in the discussion. Please also report bugs in the original game, the editor modifications might have broken something that we didn't catch.

(When using the editor, it can happen that the game crashes after several reloads. This is very difficult to fix and is usually a problem with inconsistency between the saved position and the new content. Always try to restart the game, or create a new save)
