Is there a way to get more evil points per evil smash? I'm more than fine with grinding, but every evil smash only giving one evil point has already started to get annoying, and I've only done it 3 times

I saw a review saying they can see why the dev "dropped" this title, implying they've stopped working on it. Is this actually true? The review is from December and I noticed the last update was in October. Just curious to see if this is right or just another case of someone seeing that a game hasn't been updated in a relatively short amount of time and calling it dead....
