An awful FPS. Like Doom if it had no sauce whatsoever. Every level is the same loop of walk the linear path, use some buttons/levers, shoot the 100 copy-pasted enemies, fight a boss. Upgrades are incredibly far between, the level design is boring and so repetitive, the gunplay is terribly unsatisfying and overly simple (no weakpoints or mechanics, just shoot until dead), the controls are abysmal (one dash and you can't even cancel your reload animation). There's no development, no interest, no tension, no sauce, just shooting pixels on a screen in the most unimaginative formula.
This game would have been way better as a different genre since the environments are clearly where the developer's passion lies.

Its not for everyone, More of an art project.

I have a fascination with world building and also tend to enjoy boomer shooters so I thought I would give this a try. When I first picked up Mohrta I thought it would be a bit of a liminal take on the Mandalorian and I do not think my description is unjustified.

What really carries this game for me is the atmosphere. Its worldbuilding is surreal, hostile, and unforgettable; part dark fantasy, part dying science fiction. Strange gods, broken cultures, and bizarre NPCs make the setting feel ancient and alien without overexplaining itself. It is the kind of game you remember for its mood as much as its mechanics. I understand the soulslike comparisons but I don't care for them.

This game is forgiving in its hardest aspects and I admire that. I would describe this game as lonely at some points but in a way that reminds me of the modern trends of liminal spaces more than sparse due to a lack of ability. I really enjoyed all the bosses. I especially enjoyed the Arid World. I do not think I have ever played a game that featured a Circus or Carnival level that was bad.
