Question in title

First

I never played this game but I find the fonts really hard to read ... The "S" has too much spacing and looks like a "9" for example. Here a screenshot of unreadable text. https://i.ibb.co/x2YwKmT/unreadable-font.png Is it supposed to look like that?

I went through the game, got VHS's, then went to inventory and touched the candle. Ended up back in the bedroom, but then accidentally returned to lobby and just by conditioning went and saved. Now I can't figure out how to get back there to get the ending. I clicked around and the candle is gone in the inventory that takes you back to your bedroom. It seems I soft locked myself out of an ending....

Has anyone managed to get this to work with a Controller/Steam Deck?
