Starting out I want to say that this is a fun game. You can pick it up, play it, and walk away with satisfaction with just enjoying it as it is. I'm not super critical of my JRPG elements, but I feel fun neurons firing off when I'm playing around with various Orbment builds and trying out all the different synergies I can have with party builds. Not overly complex, but enough to get my "It works!" approval.

BUT if you come into this expecting a Trails traditional game, you'll be left disappointed. Moments do happen, but it is either oddly paced or just too far few in between if that makes sense. It especially drags on if you are a fan of talking to NPCs or wish to grind out the achievements (both are optional but you'll find your playtime rack up).

Overall, it depends on how you go into this game that settles the value for you. Good as just a standard JRPG, but disappointing as a Trails game. I still recommend it because it continues the ever marching world of Trails. Yet if I had to be frank, this game could have been shrunk down to a 30 hour experience even with optional content. Probably the worst padding I've felt in the series in a while.

Ehhh I can see why Daybreak 2 had mixed reviews on its initial release, nothing really happened almost half of the game until chapter 3. Marchen Garten is at least a little better compare to Reverie's Corridors, the combat is expanded and building characters is fun as always, Van and the team always have that good dynamic and ultimately carried my playthrough, seeing their fun dialogue and banters always makes me giggle.

6.5/10 Daybreak 2 feels more of a pretty big DLC to Daybreak 1 and is definitely one of the few weakest sequels.
