I was okay for the first few hours, I was really enjoying the story and worldbuilding and the voice acting was excellent. But then the game started asking too much precision for these godawful controls.

Good port! But the actual games are kind of overrated. I had played the original before and I managed to complete it here again, but I tapped out 2-3 hours into SR2.
The worldbuilding and narrative might be interesting, but the gameplay teeters between repetitively dull and borderline dysfunctional. The visual design and music, although occasionally interesting, are so mind-numbing that you risk a migraine after several hours of play. These qualities go for both the first and the second game.
People usually say that the story is worth it. I think you'd be better off watching a video or reading a synopsis that covers the story. Even then, the narrative of the first game felt rather sparse, and if I can be completely sincere, the concept of "mermaid vampires" left a sour taste in my mouth.

Loved it upon initial release but I think it was mostly because of the visuals. Although this game was awesome and groundbreaking for it's time It feels dated now. I think for the uninitiated this is worth playing but I don't like it as much as I thought I did.
