First, I played this game before, but it was so long ago I forgot nearly everything about it, so I played it again.
The last part before the final boss and the boss itself nearly made me give it a negative
because I was not a fan of that part at all.
The gameplay and story, especially if you read all the PDAs and computer terminal logs, were good enough to entertain me.
On the balancing side, all the enemies could have done with a bit less HP, but it was still okay. Even so, you burn through your ammunition too fast because of it, which really was a hassle at the last boss, but the pistol saves the day, I guess.

All in all, it was okay for what it is.
If it's on sale and you can get it for cheap, I would say go for it if you like some top-down pew-pew.

As a warning, the game only saves at the start of the level, not in between.
