This is beyond incredible, beyond amazing, beyond a visual novel. And really do mean beyond visual novel. It takes the medium and perfects it. With interactive footnotes to further your understanding of the rich rich universe South Scrimshaw lies within, and beautiful auditory accompaniment that deepens your immersion within the story. Even just the images that are used, and sometimes there are animations, are simply incredible. So many are worthy of being displayed all by themselves. They are absolutely stunning.

This game is also so freaking nerdy its insane, and genuinely such amazing worldbuilding its absurd. Stars this game is such a treat to go through just for this documentarian approach to easily the coolest fictitious species I've ever seen. The Brillo Whale is genuinely such an amazing species with so much potential and possibility along with amazing examples shown. The idea of this highly adaptive species that has so many possibilities is just chefs kiss.

And the fact that this game is completely free to download, play, and experience is insane to me. Stars this game is seriously a must play its so incredible. Its so emotionally engaging and beautiful and well written and so well made and put together its just... AHHHHH

Seriously, bravo Mr. Marsh, you've created by far the best visual novel that this one has ever had the pleasure of playing and/or seeing.

AND THE ARTBOOK IS 215 PAGES??? Like I know its not free and included, but come on this game really is just a treat.

I absolutely love this story and think it is so beautifully written and illustrated. I've gone through it three times and find more to appreciate each time, with the story pacing, foreshadowing, science, and visuals. It feels so realistic and so well thought out. The speculative biology is so creative while having scientific explanations behind it that feel right. The personality of our whale is so cute. I am so impressed by the level of detail and love that went into this. I can't wait to see what happens in part two.
