I will always spend hours and hours planning my prison before I even lay down a single foundation, pathway or object, and you should do the same.
You're an architect. Building as you go without a plan is a sure fire way of making an awful and inefficient prison.
2) but that's moot anyway, because it's not happening from a lack of planning, it's happening because of missing marks, touch screen releasing before I've lifted my finger out, or I just change my mind and decide to go a different route despite the plan
3) it's a game, some of us play games to relax and don't want a second job and no life like you Emmote.
A bug is a bug, you can't just wish it away by being douchebags.
Plus, the player is "refunded" for everything else he spends (items shipped to you are stored so the second use is free after cancelation). So not refunding the fundations is misleading.
Mislead + No mistake tolerance = Fix this.
Basic maths :-)
I spent like 2 hours figuring out the layout i wanted with the plan tool, which is a fantastic tool. Still I made some mistakes when dragging the foundation and lost a lot of money when canceled which kind of made me waste my evenings time but its all part of early access.
I'm sure the devs will fix it eventually.
1) A planner is there for a reason, use it. If you think you shouldn't have to use it first, then you are doomed to fail.
2) A fair point, this is a known issue. All I can say is, be careful when you are building to prevent the issue from happening. I have slowed myself down a little when building and I haven't had the problem since making the adjustment.
3) This game isn't really designed to be relaxing. You're in charge of building and maintaining a prison, which requires you to actually put a fair amount of effort in. Don't expect it to be just a casual thing you can do whenever you want.
Fine, so don't. You still need to plan your building out in your head, or else you're a *rubbish* architect.
You're trying to play on a touch screen? Well there's one of your problems.
Changing your mind is also a problem here - unless you can afford it. You can't and yet despite knowing about the issue you keep changing your mind.
Most of us play games to relax. It's just that some games require a modicum of skill, planning or forethought. This is one of them.
Do we *know* this is a bug? I don't know many building contractors in real life that take money for a construction job then give it all back halfway through whjen the client has a senior moment and decides that actually they want to build this half-built building *over there* instead of *over here*.
Look, either way, this is the way it is right now. Deal with it. I have no issues with this. Guess that's because I enjoy planning my prisons out. Seems appropriate as that's what this game is all about...
Doesn't break the game. Game still works. Just annoys you, which is not the definitiion of game breaking.
Anyway, this thread is about when you start foundations, then change your mind and cancel them.
If you get the (admittedly frustrating) bug where foundations seem complete but won't convert, try drawing over the existing foundations with new foundations. Won't cost you anything, usually de-bugs the buggy foundations.
The foundations not completing is annoying too though, just ran into that one with a foundation around 50x50 total but lots of little rooms... overdrawing the whole thing didn't work, I had to redraw each little piece one at a time, and there's still several that refuse to finish.
Anyway, both problems are annoying, and the first problem is retarded. I don't care if it doesn't refund the cash as long as it still gave the materials like everything else you cancel, but no, it steals the money AND the materials, THAT'S what the bug is.
