Hi everyone,

First, we want to express our sincere gratitude for your continued interest and support for Motel Life Simulator. This project holds a special place in our hearts, and we feel it’s time to provide you with an important update regarding its current status.

We officially announced Motel Life Simulator in December 2022, with great excitement and high ambitions. Over the next six months, we worked hard to shape the game, but as an indie team with limited resources, we encountered some unexpected challenges. Two of our core team members had to leave due to other commitments, and we struggled with securing the necessary funds to continue development at the pace we wanted. As a result, we made the difficult decision to pause development.

While we did share this news with our community on Discord, we decided not to post an official update on Steam at the time. Part of the reason for this was the emergence of several other motel simulator games. Rather than rushing our project to be among the first, we made the choice to step back and regroup, focusing on securing the resources and creative energy to return to Motel Life Simulator with the quality it deserves.

In the meantime, we’ve had the exciting opportunity to work on a new project in collaboration with another studio named Ashen Studios. This has led to the development of Liminalcore, a psychological horror game that has been receiving fantastic feedback from our early playtesters and demo players so far. We are now gearing up for its release on 25 October 2024.

Though this project took our immediate focus, we want to emphasize that Motel Life Simulator is still very much on our minds. We care deeply about this game and the community that’s been built around it.

After the release of Liminalcore, we plan to revisit and reignite development on Motel Life Simulator. We are more committed than ever to making it a game that stands out—one that’s true to our original vision, with unique mechanics and an enjoyable experience. Rushing a release just to meet a competitive timeline would have resulted in a half-baked product, and that’s not something we’re willing to do.

What’s Next?
We will provide a more detailed update on Motel Life Simulator after the release of Liminalcore. Rest assured, we’re not giving up on the game; we’re just taking the time needed to ensure we do it justice.
