Horrible, unbearable, highly punishing, and the opposite of innovative. Anything requiring "boxing" and "multiple accounts" at the expense of your time and money with no respect for mods/creations DESPITE embracing and encouraging it for decades is not worth your time/money solely due to their own actions.

The current owners of the game with their precious "i.p." have told the world they love being absolute thugs wishing nothing more than pain in your gaming experience. I highly suggest the company's leading decision makers start using a proven formula that works, stop stamping out those who've given to the franchise, drop the frivolous petty lawsuits, and most especially stop ruining people's lives over it.

At this point reputation dictates "The Heroes Journey" (where 90% of players were pulled out of the dustbin of history) likely should be the actual game and quite possibly even the new name instead of this un-modernized "poor excuse to be alive" Everquest game play. I'm watching how everyone who played the better "fan-made" version (made by a small group of enthusiasts might I add) will never flock to this game just as they never planned to before and won't after. EVEN if they tried, the retention would be near non-existent just as it has been for years.

For such poor management, censorship, and disingenuous treatment of mods, heartlessly attacking creators, and eviscerating a beautiful community very much resembling the glory days, I believe selling this i.p. to a more sensible investor is very much on the list.

If the company's motto really is "a community-driven company, committed to bringing players the best games and entertainment experiences. Our team is always pushing the boundaries of innovation and looking for ways to create and redefine game genres" then they're most definitely heading in the wrong direction.

That's what people should know when they hear "Dey break games."

This game was really fun back in the day. The Heroes Journey was a great new spin on a very old and dead game. Daybreak decided to get The Heroes Journey shut down. With those actions. I will never return to EverQuest or any other Daybreak games. You have just lost a life long supporter.

I started playing Everquest in June of 2000. My playtime on this game is absolutely wild, and it helped brighten my day when times were rough.

Slowly, over the years, Everquest has slowly decayed, and ownership has changed. I still remember when Verant and 989 Studios were doing patch days every Wednesday. We'd all gather in the chatroom and discuss Everquest until the servers were back up. This was also the way to get a guild approved, people had to vote in favor. We'd all help each other out and vote for guilds to be approved, and just shoot the crap with everybody.

Corpse runs were horrible, but they made you pay attention to everything around you. Hill Giants were farmed constantly, and The Oasis was a very dangerous place, where you'd be fighting a crocodile, and a Sand Giant would come up behind you and beat you to death. Try going AFK... you better be in a safe place.

It was a very magical game, and I still, up until now, chased the nostalgia that once use to be a very tough (but fun) game. It's all gone, unfortunately, all of the fun is gone.

No more hell levels (okay, so those sucked and everybody hated them), no more figuring out what and where quest NPC's are, no more printed paper maps, and, to be honest, no more players. The game has went from very hard to extremely easy. It's absolutely wild how fast characters can level. Don't feel like leveling normally? Hey, we have some magical potions for you that you can consume to level faster. Don't like your armor at level 1? Go to the Bazaar and buy insane stats on newbie armor (or do the quests), and you'll be maxed out in no time.

The fun is all gone, and it breaks my heart to say that. I loved Everquest, and I've always been chasing that "high" that it'll return one day.

The absolute wild crap that Daybreak has pulled over the years has made up my mind about this game. I'm finally going to retire and let my accounts rest.

Daybreak will never get my business again.

I'm going to give this a thumbs down, obviously, but a thumbs up BEFORE Daybreak took over. I hope they crash and burn into the ground, sell the IP, and, hopefully, the next owners can restore the faith all of the Everquest vets have been waiting so very long for.
