We’re thrilled to announce that our first-person psychological horror adventure The 9th Charnel, will officially launch on Steam on January 30th, 2025! Prepare to join Michael and his team genetic scientists after they become stranded in a remote valley during a field expedition. As Michael searches for his missing colleagues, he is drawn into a terrifying web of fanatical cults, forgotten rituals, and malevolent forces. Along his journey, players will uncover the intertwined stories of several compelling characters, each burdened by their own secrets, fears, and motivations.

To celebrate the release date announcement, a brand-new trailer has been unveiled, showcasing a more in-depth look at the world ruled by sinister forces, eerie atmosphere, and the intense puzzles and encounters that await players.

Hey! I'm currently play testing, but in the second act I'm stuck. There's a door that's locked and also a door the requires a 4 digit code. I cannot for the life of me figure out the code or find the key and I felt like I was searching forever

How do you equip an item?

I feel stupid... I'm literally at the beginning of the game. I picked that cylindrycal item from the table and it's now in my inventory. But I seem to be unable to equip it. I reached the first door where the game says to equip "THE" item to unlock them. So I go to my inventory by pressing Tab and... I'm stuck. I tried different combinations, but it seems I am only able to press left mouse button on the item in inventory. Clicking LMB on it doesn't equip it, though. I checked Controls in main menu, but th...

Playtest bugs

I suggest posting all bugs in one thread; I hope this will be helpful for the developers and everyone participating in the playtest. Here's what I've found so far: 1) If I open settings not from main menu but from game, hovering over the sliders (for example, sound) makes them disappear. 2) I opened the settings menu right after the first cutscene, and after that, global lights disappeared, leaving only local illumination....

Camera and FOV

I'm getting a big headache while testing this game from its smoothed (yet laggy) camera movements and narrow FOV. All camera movements have this weird delay and it feels like I'm swinging my character around instead of just turning to a direction. I've also noticed that camera skips when you crouch and then start moving. All in all, I feel like there should be options to disable movement smoothing and chage FOV at the very least. Additionally, if we could change the autofocus it would be great....
