Trying out the Demo, but, I prefer to play with a controller and it seems fine until I try to jump. I can't find a jump button other than the c button on the keyboard.

What's the gold ball? I found one and it'd follow me about but I lost it when I went to another screen, but it was never clear what it was so I wasn't sure if I needed it or could use it.
