There's a rhythm game that I like playing called "Osu!" and I want to use Commando Steve (the music used for the "Commando" stage) as music for a custom beatmap. Do i have to do something in order to gain permission or is the song open source? By the way, the music's creator will be credited in the song's info....

I just got the game, it tracked the first few fine but i don't seem to be getting anymore? such crash into a wall after 180, and the pointless map.

I want to make a game similar to Super Hexagon too, but not 2D, but in a 3D tunnel. And I'm wondering if I need to get the permission from the original game developer. For example, Nintendo is patenting game mechanics and I wonder if it's the same matter here on Steam....
