Additionally, everyone asked for lower drop rates. So they get what they wanted, yet all still complain.
Doesnt need to make sense apparently.
I have done about 700 runs of Driller, 600 of which were when he was red, and one phosphene didn't drop.
In general the drop rate of legendaries is just way too low. I am trying to get an interesting Stray at the moment and they are so rare it's ridiculous.
That's RNG for ya. I have 2 shinies so far. Rowans and Bod. I get legendaries every so often.
The key is consistentcy. Make sure your build fast and have survivability. More runs you do an hour, the higher the chance of recieving them.
what difficulty are you on?
what UVHM are you on?
because THAT's pretty much min/maxing your build. if you ignore everything but the weapon you won't get good results. in BL3 anything not legendary (outside a handfull of items) did no damage compared to legendaries.
now in this game, i hardly even use legendaries (weapons that is, shields, repkits and classmods are build dependend for me)
for example, i have the hotslugger on both Vex and Rafa... and i just unequiped the thing because everything was just exploding into a red mist if i'd even looked at it funny (and wasn't even using my action skills wich would further increase my damage)
sure, some builds use amp shields... but a purple one works just as well as any legendary for that purpose. (if you're one shotting everything you don't even NEED a shield because there's nothing left to hit you)
hope, this answers your question as to why people wanted lower legendary droprates. (not that i have any problems getting the items i want/need within a reasonable timeframe but that's my personal observation and varries for pretty much everybody playing the game)
And so they turned it down for 4... a lot.
Saying that that is wrong is a lie.
and if we look at why people where complaining about legendaries in BL3, you have to look at that game before and after the Mayhem 2.0 update. before, everything pretty much worked like it does now in BL4 and after weapons scaled with mayhem level that it dropped on and some M1 legendaries still worked in M10, while non legendaries had you taking a huge amount of steps to have it doing enough damage to use it over any worlddrop legendary. there where some purple items that where BiS but those actualy had the droprate legendaries should have had.
if the current legendary droprate are good enough or just plain bad is a personal opinion. and mine is, they're fine (seeing non legendaries are more then viable options compared)
