lol no, it's unironically one of their best versions. WOTD went out of the way to kill it because they were terrified that their advanced users were needed to bring in new players (not really the case), so they ran a propaganda campaign and then watered down 5e to the point that it applied to as many people as possible, resulting in the most bland, boring, and imbalanced dnd to date.
In combination with their absolute greed, they've done a number to ensure DND 5e has become a wasteland of a product.
