I've seen the NPC ships doing that. Are they actually asking for clearance to land at your base though? I had the impression it was just something the mod author made them do to make the world "feel more alive" and it's not something that actually works.

If it's actually something that works, I'd be interested to know how to do this too :)

AFAIK they're asking for clearance to land on their own bases (as I often see hostile craft do so). I like to RP that I somehow tapped into their comms frequency to listen in for possible targets, but not sure if there is any actual mechanic to allow them to land to your base

really? it says they wanna drop a care package or something tho and they don't move just spawn and spawn and spawn...

have you tryed writing 'yes or confirm or something like that in the ingame chat, be cool it they did respond

yeap

they seem to want to do something but end up doing nothing. they just stay uput and my mass cannon takes care of them.

nope seems to be a broken half implemented thing.

pretty sure a giant 30,000 metric ton space craft hovering above you isn't "flavour text"

got one to land on a pad once but that was 2 updates ago
