I have an idea, don't know if it's possible, but make each artifact give you more element depending on which bosses you've killed.
So if you've done the Broodmother on easy you only get one per artifact but let's say you do the dragon on hard you'd get 5 element per artifact*. your implant does show you what bosses you've done so it could be possible but again I don't know.
