-2 billion cats bug
I managed to replicate the -2 billion cats bug in Stack, stole a single cat and it happened.
I had -2,147,447,220 cats after. Didnt notice right away until I talked to an npc to recruit them.

that single cat might not have it's value assigned

just received this bug too, got it after i submit my bundit leader bounty to the holy nation leader

i too have had this bug happen and like Nernbutt i got it from a single cat coin, was annoying first time it happened as i didnt notice for a while and lost like 30 mins but other than that im now cautious about single cat piles !

theres a simple work around patch to the negative cats bug, but causes odd behaviour.
if you change the value of a single cat to 2 from 1 you never run into the issue but have double the cats from those small piles

I'm pretty sure that this is regarding a vanilla game flaw, not one from this mod.

yes, it is. This mod however, potentially, causes the issue to come up much more often

When it happened to me, there was only like 0 or 1 cat in the pile when looting any chest.

Spawning the cats in a chest or inventory doesn't work?

does anyone know a fix? i overwrited my save without noticing i had -2,147,448,517 cats so if i want to get my money back i have to go very far back.

not a way to reverse the effects, just the way I mentioned above to prevent it from happening.

use cheat engine to find the value that controls money and set it to whatever seems fair to you then to prevent it from happening again watch what you loot, don't grab cats with no value attached.
