[SOLVED] Popping smoke from vehicles with "V" key - workaround
This issue has been resolved with a small workaround, not very convenient but working - please see the post #2 for explanation. Another workaround is available in post #3. Original question below:

Hello,

Yesterday me and my group used Unsung for the first time in a mutiplayer game. Unfortunately we encountered fairly major problem - many people have 'get out' and 'eject' actions bound to "V" key which somehow makes the vehicle pop smoke while disembarking.

The result was that whenever people got out from the chopper or a truck, there was a massive spam of smoke grenades underneath it which resulted in rather odd sight of colorful cloud of smoke particles and sometimes significant FPS drop.

I believe that this feature is hard-coded into mod's guts and therefore would like to ask - would you be so kind as to provide a solution or a workaroud to this issue? Is there any way to disable it? Or maybe this feature is not part of the Unsung Mod and we should look elsewhere?

Hi there, Delta here. Just saying that this is A mod thing. I've played with every unsung thing for a while and yes it is Unsung only. Its not due other mods being in a modpack, it HAS to do with Unsung. This happens with Some small Helicopters, The M113s, The trucks, I'm not sure bout the cars?.

Hello again!

We have found a workaround for this issue some time ago, but I totally forgot about this thread and did not think about posting it here...

These smokedrops appear to be triggered by "step over" keybind. The problem mentioned above occured because both 'get out' and 'eject' actions were bound to "V" key which is usually a default "step over" keybind in controls menu. How did we find that out? Simple:

What one of our fellow players discovered was that when he changed the mentioned "step over" bind to a key other than the one he used for 'get out' and 'eject' actions the annoying smoke drops ceased.

Hopefully above information will help other people experiencing issue with smoke spams while getting out of Unsung vehicles

In case anyone is still interested - another workaround has been developed recently by a member of our humble community to address this issue.
