Interestingly enough with dev mode the visualizer shows my music but the wallpaper is not changing shape or form like it did before.

I think you have to scale down the activation threshold for the actual 'movement' of the ribbons. I had to jack up all the audio sliders (in the skin as well as wallpaper engine). Now it works. Doesn't look as 'sharp' as before though. Almost as if there's latency.

I noticed this as well. As everyone's audio level is different, its harder to normalize all effects for everyone. The lowder the audio source is, the high level of input is given. As for it showing up in the graph but not the wallpaper, I'll need a video of that.

is there a way to turn off the audio lines in the middle?

turn off dev mode. once you do that, refresh the wallpaper by switching to another wallpaper and then switching back
