I'm knee-deep in alien XML trying to find a way to make this work haha. Any help would be appreciated
The reason they rip up the soil to try to do something else to it is because its layered like other floors. I did this intentionally so it doesn't replace the terrain and can be removed. If you want it to replace the terrain you need to remove the this tag from the xml files.
<layerable>true</layerable>
The mod is located under this directory.
Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\925664789
For a long time I've considered making a more realistic version which requires compost or soil however there's already mods that do that and I'm content with my mod so I've never bothered.
Thank you for the directory! I spent an educational hour trawling through RimWorld's files trying to learn about it. I have to say, learning Javascript prepared me for the basics of XML!
I figured that layering tag was involved... but couldn't figure out much more than that. Knowing that, I think I'm going to start making my own mud-made-monster mwahahaaaa! But joking aside, I'm still finding your mod very useful
I would love to suggest other ways to utilise things in-game (maybe some kind or irrugation system to make a T3 soil?) but this is your mod and I'm not going to start jumping on your toes or making demands (Me want modder make mod my way! RAWR!).
Thank you for replying (don't worry about the time), thank you for the help with the XML (that really solves everything I could hope for) and thank you for this excelent mod!
Keep up the good work and I wish you all the best in the future
At this time I don't plan to do any changes to Simply Soil especially not adding any sort of T3 soil. Personally I find anything over the vanilla rich soil a bit absurd as the increased growth speed can really trivialize growing food. I believe Dubs Hygiene mod has irrigation if your interested in that sort of thing. It should be compatible with Simply Soil.
