While looking at the Google Sheet that describes the various crystals, some of the Crystals deal different types of damage:

• Dragite Crystal - Sonic Damage
  
• Pontite Crystal - Cold Damage
  
• Firkrann Crystal - Shock Damage
  
• Barab Ore Ingot Crystal - Solar Radiation Damage

My question is: What is the purpose of these different damage types? Are certain items/people more susceptible to different damage types?
