Issues attempting to make a hoverbike with the daktek hover engine
The issue isn't that it doesnt fly in this case, however it fidgets around the Y axis of rotation (Roll i think.) when the engine turns on. Trying to move forward results in the hoverbike flipping over, and continueing to fidget around. I'm wondering if it's too light, or too heavy to one side, or something else?

^ I took screenshots of the hoverbike, Its not a good hoverbike, for sure, i was just trying to see if i could get something like this to work. If my rambling is too confusing just say, or if this is a bad place to post this, also just say.

So you have the baseplate, then the hover engine and reactor are both parented to a gate that is parented to the baseplate? Also having the baseplate be about 500 weight seems like a safe option.

I'll try installing the weight tool and increasing the weight on the baseplate, and yes, though i did parent (everything) to the gate except the baseplate (Since gate is parented to baseplate, by the settings i put when i created the baseplate.)

Changed the baseplate weight to 500, Issue changed from spazzing out on roll axis to spazzing out on roll axis, then deleting itself.

Have you tried it with a flat plate on the bottom as a baseplate?

This fixed it, Thank you. Would you like me to delete the post or leave it up? Of course you could probably do that yourself if you wanted to.

Also, i will be gone until 9-10.

Its fine to leave it up. Generally the baseplate is considered to be on the base and a plate, using offset bricks at various angles can cause issues from time to time.

Alright, i was using a trash bin prop as the baseplate since i could hide it well, im not supprised it was the cause of the issue. Also, i was wrong about being gone since i miraculously remembered to charge my phone.

Quick question, should the baseplate be the lowest point on the contraption/Can you put things under it? I believe this may be the cause of the spazzing issue i seem to be having with my attempts at hovercrafts so far. Edit: Also, should the baseplate be larger than the contraption in width and length?

Bigger baseplates do add in more stability due to how leverage works, so I wouldn't recommend any super small baseplates. You should be able to put things under the baseplate without any spazzing, the traces used for the code filter out pieces of the contraption.

Okay, that clears it up for me. Any minimum size you would reccomend for the baseplate? I've been using ones a little bit bigger than the hoverdrive. Edit: Also, is there any way to slow down the turning on hovercrafts? When i try to turn mine it turns 90 degrees in a fraction of a second, then flips over.

I generally recommend a baseplate probably double the size of the hoverdrive in length and width. You can slow down a hoverdrive's speed and turning by using a smaller engine, a smaller reactor, or making the contraption heavier.
A while later i seem to be having an issue with gimballed weapons. (Weapon parented to a gimbal , gimbal parented to a baseplate, chip, or other prop.) If the weapon is a laser, it ignores both players and props, firing directly through them. If the weapon fires a projectile, (Ex: PPC or Machine Gun.) The spawn point of the projectile seems to change to where the chip/baseplate is, instead of spawning infront of the gun, however it still flies in the direction the gun is facing.

You shouldn't parent things to gimbals like that. For turreted weapons please have an aimer prop which you know the forward direction of and parent a wiremod gate to that then parent your guns to that gate. You then ballsocket the aimer prop to the baseplate and use a turret e2 to have it move.
Hello again. I've been having issues parenting things to a vehicle. This time around the issue is that when i area copy the vehicle with Advanced Duplicator 2, sometimes something on the vehicle will randomly slide out. Usually the mobility part, like a motor or a hoverdrive. Any idea why this is happening for me?

Edit: Unparenting, putting it back in place, then reparenting the item seems to fix it sometimes.

Edit2: A second question, How might one use the "Mech gun stuff V2" chip so that it aims through canopies (Like it does in the public mech dupes.)

Speaking of hover bikes, is there any way to reduce the turning speed? Mine turns way too fast.
@The_Offensive_Lemon I believe you can only increase the weight of your vehicle to lower the speed, or use a weaker reactor. You may also use some modules that reduce mobility.
